Editorial correspondence

The Dispatch welcomes focused notes about its source record: a citation attached to the wrong claim, a primary study described as a review, a regulatory document that has changed, a trial that has published follow-up, or wording that reaches farther than the cited evidence. The most actionable message names the page, quotes the exact passage, identifies the proposed correction, and supplies the supporting source.

Messages are reviewed as editorial correspondence, not as requests for clinical consultation. A submitted paper is assessed for what it actually is—primary research, synthesis, regulatory material, or commentary—and for whether it changes the confidence or scope of the existing summary. Publication of a correction is not guaranteed, but specific, source-backed notes receive the clearest review path.

Outside the desk's remit

The mailbox cannot answer personal medical questions, interpret symptoms, recommend use, provide dosing or reconstitution instructions, assess a product, verify a vendor, locate a supplier, or advise on combining compounds. It also cannot determine whether a study population matches a particular individual. Those questions require qualified professionals and, where relevant, regulated products and current jurisdiction-specific guidance.

Unsolicited sales pitches, requests to rank commercial products, and offers to exchange placement for payment do not fit the editorial model. Replies may be delayed because correspondence is checked as part of periodic source review rather than as a clinical support service.
